Bolg 7: CATW Practice 2

Individuals that are in groups, tend to think and act a certain way differently when they are by them selves. when people observe or have seen an accident, they're actions respond in a heroic way.like they give they're life to save another. As apposed to when in a crowd, they hold back on being heroic. To see who will take that risk first. According to the Article "individualism in groups" by Carol Travis, i agree when she states    "Something happens to individuals when they are in a group".
In the Article, they conducted an experiment. the purpose of this experiment was to study the behavior of students in a staged emergency. they put a groups of  three in one room and those on their own in another room. An incident occurred when smoke began to pour out of the vents. Students that were left on their own, immediately hesitated, went to check on the vents and and it was reported to be what seem like a fire. On the other hand, those that were in groups did not move to check the incident. They sat there for about six minutes with heavy smoke that they could barely see.
An example would be from the movie "a walk to remember". A young lady diagnosed with leukemia, fall for a young guy with a bad reputation. He was associated in a group of popular kids who all they new was to bad. Once the young guy hooks up with this girl, he realizes that hes different. He start to see that he is this sweet guy and how he wants to better his life. That the group that he was in wasn't going to bring him any good.
